I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in working with military and veteran families. Are you a military or veteran family struggling to keep up with the fast pace of military life or adjust to your new life as a civilian?  As a Navy veteran and military spouse, I understand the challenges of military life and the transition that occurs when you transition from active duty to veteran.  I use a strength’s based holistic approach to help individuals and families live life to the fullest across the lifespan.

I began my education at Colorado Christian University where I earned a certificate in Biblical Studies. I continued my education at the University of Utah obtaining a bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work. During my time at the University of Utah, I worked with Adult Protective Services and earned a certificate in Geriatric Social Work from the Hartford Foundation through the Salt Lake City, VA Medical Center. In addition, I completed education in caring for Military members through the Center for Deployment Psychology and Center for Loss and Life Transition. I continue to seek additional training in order to best serve military and veteran families.

I have a wide range of experience working with military and veterans having worked for the VA Medical Center in Salt Lake City, UT as a social worker, at Hill Air Force base assisting active duty military with their transition to civilian life and serving as the Casualty Assistance Representative. In addition, I have worked with survivors of military sexual trauma utilizing art therapy to integrate new coping mechanisms for survivors.
